The Jogoos make a short trip to Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, on matchday 12 of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, determined to collect maximum points on the road in a highly anticipated Kampala Derby.
SC Villa currently sit fourth on the table with 23 points from 11 matches. Victory against Express FC would see the Jogoos close the gap on the league leaders as the title race begins to take shape.

The Jogoos will be without Reagan Mpande, Diego Semugera, and Elvis Ngonde, who are all sidelined with injuries. However, defender Geoffrey Lubangkene and captain David Owori return and will be available for selection.

Form favors SC Villa heading into the derby. In the last ten meetings, the Jogoos have registered six wins and two draws, with Express claiming the remaining victories. Former Express players now in Villa colors—Geoffrey Gaganga, Hassan Mubiru, Cyrus Kibande, and goalkeeper David Lukwago—know what this fixture means and will be keen to make a statement against their former side.

Speaking to the club’s communications team, midfielder Aslam Semakula emphasized the importance of the encounter:
Express are a good team, and this fixture means a lot in the history of both clubs. We need the points more, considering our position and our ambitions going forward. Our focus is to take all three points.
Kick-off is scheduled for 8:00 PM (EAT) in the capital.
