By the 20-minute mark, tensions had begun to rise as Villa searched for a breakthrough but failed to find a cutting edge. Around the half-hour mark, the Jogoos grew into the game, taking control of possession and pushing forward with intent.
Despite their attacking pressure, clear chances remained limited. Patrick Kakande had a notable opportunity in the 41st minute, but his effort went wide. The first half ended goalless after two minutes of added time.

Villa were forced into an early change after the break, with Kakande going off injured and Reagan Mpande coming on in the 53rd minute.
