Isaac Mpagi Returns to First Team Training

The Club is delighted to confirm that Isaac Mpagi has officially returned to first team training as he continues his journey back to full fitness.

The midfielder has been sidelined since March last year after suffering a muscle tear that required surgery. Following a successful operation, Mpagi has spent the past four months undergoing an intensive rehabilitation program under the supervision of the Club’s medical department.

His return to the training pitch marks an important milestone in what has been a long and demanding recovery process.
By the time of the unfortunate injury, Mpagi had already made seventeen appearances for the Club featuring in three CECAFA matches, two CAF Champions League preliminary fixtures, and twelve league games. His presence had become increasingly important within the squad before being forced out of action.

Speaking after rejoining the group, Mpagi expressed his determination and commitment.

I have been keenly observing how every member of the team is giving their all for the badge, and I promise to do the same.

The midfielder now faces the challenge of gradually reintegrating into competitive action and competing for a place in the matchday squad. After such a lengthy absence, the focus remains on regaining full match fitness while blending seamlessly back into the team setup.

Mpagi’s return comes at a crucial time for the Club following the departure of Atukunda Tonny earlier this year.
Head Coach Zeljko Kovacevic welcomed the positive development:

We need everything every player can give in order to achieve this season’s club goals.

While there is still work to be done before Mpagi returns to competitive action, his steady progress is an encouraging sign for the technical bench and supporters alike. The Club will continue to manage his workload carefully as he builds towards full match readiness ahead of the upcoming campaign.
