SC Villa head to Eastern Uganda on Wednesday, 7 October 2026, as they visit Kataka FC in Matchday Five of the 2026/27 StarTimes Uganda Premier League at the BCS Sports Complex in Bukedea.
The encounter will mark the first-ever meeting between the two sides, with the Jogoos looking to maintain their strong start to the campaign.
SC Villa have won three and drawn one of their opening four league matches, remaining unbeaten as they push to stay among the leading sides on the log. Kataka FC, meanwhile, are still searching for their first victory of the season, having drawn once and lost three times from their four matches, with a game in hand.
Squad Update
The Jogoos will be without goalkeeper David Lukwago, defender Geoffrey Lubangakene, and forward Frank Ssebuufu, who are away on international duty.
The rest of the squad is available for selection.
Speaking ahead of the trip, midfielder John Tumusiime underlined the team’s determination to return from the East with maximum points.
“We’re prepared to go to the East and collect the maximum points so that we can keep ourselves in the best places at the top of the log.
“As a player, I keep pushing and doing what the Coach desires and wants me and the rest of the team to do while on the pitch. Our ambition to take the league silverware this season is still on.”
Head Coach Željko Kovačević acknowledged the quality of the opposition but believes the Jogoos are ready for the challenge.
“Kataka is a very good team with good coaches and players. We are, however, ready to go and score goals so that we stay in the top places on the log.
“There are a few changes for us. The three national team players will join us on game day and will be available on the bench. Young defender Gilbert Ogenrwot, who recently represented Uganda at the U20 qualifiers, will also be ready to appear in our starting lineup tomorrow.”
The Jogoos will be aiming to continue their unbeaten start and return to Kampala with another valuable three points.
